Hospitality after Mass

The following has been received from the Diocesan Coordinator.

Dear All,

We’ve had a few questions about restarting teas after Mass.

From 26th April it will be permissible to serve food and drink after Mass under the same rules as hospitality venues.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): tourism and hospitality sector guidance - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

Please read the full guidance above before providing hospitality so you are aware of all the rules, and be aware that the guidance will likely be further updated as 26th April approaches.

Some points that must be observed include:

  • Table service only – no queuing up to get food or drinks
  • No more at a table than are allowed to meet indoors – from 26th April that means no more than 6 people from 2 households; from 17th May that means no more than 6 people from 3 households.
  • Do not offer self-service/buffet type food – no plates with sandwiches or loose biscuits left on a table, etc.

With best wishes

Canon Paul Gargaro

Diocesan Coordinator
