Assisted Suicide Consultation

PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON ASSISTED SUICIDE

A public consultation on a proposed Bill to legalise assisted suicide is now open.
Bishop Hugh Gilbert, President of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, has encouraged Catholics to respond to the consultation and to “reject" the proposal. Bishop Gilbert added that the proposal was “a serious threat to the elderly, the disabled, and the vulnerable” and urged people to "send the message that every human life has value."
Please read our guide, attached, and respond to the consultation today. You may also access the guide via this link
It is important that we send a clear message to MSPs that every human life has value. Please help us to reject the legalisation of the deliberate killing of vulnerable individuals; to say yes to care and no to killing.
And please remember to share the guide with family, friends and on social media.
The closing date for responding to the consultation is 22 December.
