Update 04.09.20
A further update is available concerning halls, visiting homes, parish housekeepers and staff.
Halls
After getting further advice from the Bishops’ Conference and further Guidance from the Scottish Government, we can now re-issue our Archdiocesan Guidance on halls. We hope that this is accurate but halls are much more difficult to provide for because the activities are so varied. Obviously all Guidance may change as the Government’s provisions change. This version of the Guidance is much more restrictive than the previous one – basically we can have most activities for under-18s and certain organised activities for adults, but not much else.
Visiting Homes
The Government have clarified their Guidance on the local restrictions in Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire to say that workers and caregivers can visit people’s homes. This means that priests, deacons, and extraordinary ministers can visit the housebound or visit to arrange funerals, etc. This should only however take place if the person being visited is happy for it to happen and if the person visiting is happy to do it. If either party is showing symptoms or worried about being at high risk then it should be omitted. As always, if visits do take place the visitor should wear a face covering, sanitise hands before and after, and observe social distancing.
Housekeepers and Parish Staff during Local Restrictions
Parish workers can still go to work in the parish house being especially careful to follow all the guidance.
